Our client owns and runs a busy General Practice in Miami, Gold Coast, Queensland. The Gold Coast is Australia's sixth largest city with a population of just under 500,000 and growing.  The locals will tell you that they just love the climate - 19 - 29C (66-83 F) in the Summer and around 9 - 21C (48-69 F) in the Winter.  No wonder the Gold Coast is Australia's favourite playground all year round!

The regions sits between beautiful rainforest covered hinterland and some of the longest continuous surf beaches in the country, contains many national parks and all of Australia's major theme parks.  For families, there are many private schools to choose from, several local university campuses and it is an easy commute by rail or freeway to Brisbane with all the usual business, cultural, artistic and educational facilities of a capital city.

This independently owned practice is currently turning away 30-40 patients a day, so you can be assured that you will walk into a full book from day one.  Because of their ease of accessibility, the practice deals with quite a lot of acute work in their treatment room, in addition to the usual day to day requirements of the local population and tourists.  The practice is staffed by experienced nursing and support staff, and is complimented by allied health practitioners.

The practice currently has 15,000 patients registered, and sees approximately 100 per day. The practice employs 2 nurses, a nurse practitioner doing 3 days, a podiatrist, a dietician, 2 psychologists, a pharmacist who does medication reviews weekly, and an exercise physiologist. There is Pathology and X-ray on-site.

There are 8 consulting rooms, a dedicated nursing area, and small procedures room. Clinics are conducted for Chronic care and asthma, and it is a local diabetes resource centre. This is an accredited, fully computerised, mixed billing practice, and is happy to accomodate special interests (i.e. skin cancer, cosmetic, diabetes).

The practice is now involved with teaching medical students, GP registrar's and doctors from the local Gold Coast Hospital.

Your earnings will be negotiable, and experience and skills will be generously rewarded.  You will be sponsored into Australia by the practice to work as an independent contractor.

To be suitable for this role you will need:

to be suitable for Vocational Registration as a GP ie you will have FRACGP, FRNZCGP, CFPC+LMCC, MRCGP+CCT, MICGP or similar
to be eligible for registration with the Queensland Medical Board
to be experienced in working in a high volume GP practice and enjoy using your A&E skills
