These ‘big four’ have branches in all cities and large towns throughout the country, and have representation overseas.

Electronic banking is big - VERY BIG - in Australia. All of the major banks and quite a number of the smaller banks have online banking facilities where you can access all of your account information, transfer money, pay bills and more.
Tip
If you are considering a location in a regional area, then it is best to remain with the 'big four' banks to start with. Many of these may have branches in your country of origin, and accounts and facilities can be set up prior to your departure.
